Do you want to have especially emotional pictures among your wedding day photos? Do you want a beautifully decorated photo album, laid out with the details of your wedding — rings, the bridal bouquet, the groom’s buttonhole, the dress, the garter, shoes, perfume, cuff-links, a tie and so on? These are the details that allow you to create a particularly sophisticated and elegant photo book or slide show.

Do you want to remember and look through the touching moments with your parents and friends again and again? Will you be able to hold onto a keepsake of the efforts of your bridesmaids helping you get dressed, or of your parents watching this special moment and their tears of joy and pride when they see you in your wedding attire?

I think your answer is yes. You’ll then understand how important it is to take photos during those magical preparations by the bride and groom.

I usually spend 60 to 90 minutes on shooting getting ready in the bride’s room, and 30 minutes for getting ready in the groom’s room. I photograph the details, and the stages of getting dressed; I take artistic portraits of the bride and groom; I photograph the bride so as to show off the beauty of her wedding dress; and I take group pictures with the family and the bridal party.

In my working experience at 300 weddings in different nations around the world, as well as at my own wedding in 2017, I can definitely say that taking photos of the bride and groom’s getting ready is one of the most elegant, romantic, touching, heartwarming, and beautiful stages of their wedding day. It is these photos of my wedding that I see most often — recalling my beloved friends, who are far away, remembering my thoughts and feelings at that moment, and reliving the happiness I anticipated, which was and is unforgettable.
